While in my right split today I felt a pop about a hand length from my right knee on the side in I suppose the muscle or hamstring area, it didn t hurt. It was like there was tightness there that popped it s self out, it had a cooling feeling after. It happened about 30 minutes ago it doesn t hurt it just feels sore like after stretching. Should I be worried I tore something or something worse happened?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Maninder's Response
Hi,
The most common presenting symptom for torn muscle or any injury is pain and tenderness.
It might be associated with decreased range of motion. In your case, it seems that nothing serious has happened.
I would suggest to completely rest the part because there could be a great risk that the extent of the injury will increase and do icing and compression. Also, elevate the part.
You can use Ibuprofen if the discomfort increases and in case there is any aggravation of the symptoms, please go to the health care professional for proper diagnosis through physical examination and tests like radiography or ultrasound.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Maninder, General & Family Physician
